  • Roha developed secondary packaging made from mushroom mycelium and agricultural waste. This is called 'Mycelium packaging' which can potentially replaces need for polystyrene based secondary packaging in various consumer electronics (ACs, washing machines etc)and other products. Mycelium packaging is 100% home compostable, sustainable alternative with performance similar to styrofoam based secondary packaging. Not only the product but also the production process was made sustainable by upcycling the agricultural residue with is other wise burnt. This also generates secondary income for farmers and we collect mycelium spawn from women self help groups thus providing employment to rural women. This process helps in satisfying UN sustainable development goals of Gender equality (5) responsible production and consumption (12) , life below sea (14) and life on land (15).

Steps to get DPIIT startup recognition

  4. Department review & clarifications

    DPIIT may request clarifications on scalability, innovation, or documentation. Respond promptly through the portal — delays here are the most common reason recognition timelines stretch.

  5. Receive DPIIT recognition (DIPP number)

    Once approved, download your recognition certificate and note your DIPP number. You can then access Startup India benefits, incubator programmes, and schemes such as SISFS (subject to each scheme’s rules).

  6. Plan compliance & growth milestones

    Align GST, labour, and sector licences with your stage. If you are pursuing seed funding, keep proof-of-concept milestones documented — incubators evaluate traction alongside your recognition status.
